JAY – Two former Jay men are accused of stealing two chain saws from two homes in North Jay last month, police Detective Drew Hufnagel said Monday.

A. Scotty Couture, 20, and Dustin Towers, 20, who have no firm addresses, Hufnagel said, turned themselves in after warrants were issued for their arrest.

They face charges of burglary and theft, Hufnagel said.

Couture turned himself in to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department on Dec. 3 and Towers on Dec. 8, he said.

The chain saws were taken from garages at the residences, he said.

Through his investigation, Hufnagel said, he was able to locate the chain saws, which had been sold to another Jay resident, and returned them to the owners.
