SEBAGO – The Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake is presenting “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” by Barbara Robinson, a simple, enchanting tale about a church Christmas pageant that gets taken over by the poorly behaved children of the Herdman family.

The Herdmans are without question the worst kids “in the entire history of the world.” They are guilty of every unmentionable childhood crime and have thought of more than a few original ones. Although none of them has ever attended church, much less heard the Christmas story before, the story of the first Christmas becomes new and real in some surprising ways.

This warm and funny show, directed by Keith Halliburton, runs through Dec. 21. The cast includes 33 children and teens and 10 adults.

Friday performances are at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday shows are at 5 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for students and seniors.

Call 642-3743 for reservations. The Schoolhouse Arts Center is on Route 114, just north of Routes 114 and 35.
