MEXICO – Carroll B. “Carl” McKenna, 81, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 9, at his residence, with his family at his side. He was a resident of River Road in Mexico.

He was born in Mexico, on March 18, 1927, a son of the late Wilfred and Viola (Welton) McKenna. He attended Rumford schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked for Boise Cascade in the shipping platform, until his retirement. He was a 40-year member of the Central Maine Pigeon Flyers. He enjoyed his Friday night dinners at Dick’s, with family and Sunday family lunches.

He was married in Rumford to Audrey Nickerson, who died in Rumford on Oct. 27, 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Carlene Robinson of Mexico; a son, Bernard McKenna and his wife, Alice, of Mexico; a brother, Walter McKenna and his wife, Carole, of Auburn; two sisters, Helen Gilbert and Anne Dawson, of Rumford; three grandchildren, Jaime Bushie and her husband, Joel, of Dixfield, Jodi McKenna and her companion, Ben Bailey, of Rumford and Jonathan Robinson of Mexico; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Bailey of Rumford.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Robert; a sister, Jean Ross; and a son-in-law, Richard Robinson.
