AUBURN – Normande C. Moreau, 79, formerly of 18 Caron St., Lewiston, died Sunday, Dec. 7, at Clover Healthcare.

She was born in Lewiston, on Dec. 6, 1929, the daughter of Auguste and Maria Cormier Lajoie. She was educated in Lewiston schools. She married Romeo “Buddy” Moreau on Sept. 1, 1952. He passed away Jan. 13, of this year.

She worked at Fortier’s Bakery and Ames Butter Store and stayed at home after the birth of her only child. She loved to bake for her family and friends and was best known for making excellent fudge. She loved the sport of hockey from the 1950s, when her brothers played for St. Dom’s to when her grandsons played youth hockey. She also attended many card parties with her sisters and sister-in-law.

She was known for always keeping her house neat and clean. Since moving to Clover four years ago, she and Buddy enjoyed attending various programs provided by the activities department. A communicant of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul for her entire life, she was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan and her husband, Jim Parker; two grandsons, Brian and Nicholas Parker; three brothers, Robert Lajoie and his wife, Florence, of Florida, Rene Lajoie and his wife, Jocelyn, of Florida, and Bert Lajoie and his wife, Joan, of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Dorothy Lajoie and Lorraine Labonte; sister-in-law, Jeannette Lajoie; and brothers-in-law, Roger Moreau and Simeon Labonte.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Hattan, the excellent staff of Side One and the activities department staff at Clover for the great care they provided for Normande. A special thank you to Dr. Lionel Tardif and his wife, Claire, for their frequent visits and lasting friendship.
