LISBON – The Philip W. Sugg Middle School Academic Advocate student-driven newspaper staff meets at the school at 7 p.m. every other Tuesday to discuss the news and other events to cover for their school.
Students cover club events, sports and other noteworthy news for 15 weeks during the school year.
“Students come to meetings with their own ideas for stories and are ready to schedule interviews. Our staff may be smaller at PWS this year due to eighth-grade students moving up to the high school, but their dedication is second to none,” said Advocate adviser, Monica Millhime. “Working on the newspaper gives the students a number of opportunities to make connections from the classroom to real-life experiences.”
