FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Francis G. Yokell, 81, formerly of Hartley Street, Lewiston, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Williamson Medical Center.
He was born in Lewiston, on Sept. 5, 1927, the son of Marshall and Edna (Wallingford) Yokell. He graduated from Lewiston High School and then went on to serve his country as a sergeant first class in the Army.
After service, he moved to East Hartford, Conn., where he worked as a machinist for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 31 years. He returned to Lewiston after retiring. He spent his final years living in Franklin, Tenn., where he enjoyed spending time with family and working on his hobbies of wood working and jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory and his wife, Shirley, of Houston, Texas, and Daniel and his wife, Jane, of Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters, Barbara Murray and her husband, Paul, of Lewiston and Joan Willette and her husband, William, of Wales; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Albert, Marshall, George and Edward Yokell; and his sisters, Pearl Gray, Sylvia Acheson and Phyllis Allen.
