LITTLETON (AP) – State police say they’ve brought charges against a Littleton woman after her three pit bulls viciously attacked a neighbor who was out for her evening run.
Police say 41-year-old Angela Ewings received numerous puncture wounds to her hands, arms and legs Thursday evening. She was treated at Houlton Regional Hospital. Police say the dogs’ owner, 44-year-old Mary Smith, attempted to stop the attack but could not control the dogs.
Ewings told police that Smith failed to help her when she tried to climb into a car to escape the dogs. Police say Ewings ended up running a half-mile to get help.
Smith is charged with keeping dangerous dogs and police say additional charges are possible.
