AUBURN- Dorothy Frost Field passed away Dec. 12, at Clover Manor in Auburn after a short illness.
She was a lifelong resident of the area having been raised in East Poland since her birth, Feb. 23, 1914. After graduating from Gorham Normal School, she taught in East Poland. She was married to the late Edward M. Field, former mayor of Auburn, for 34 years. She was a lifetime member of the Lewiston United Baptist Church. Her career as the guidance secretary for the Auburn school system spanned 25 years. In retirement, she worked as a tax preparation specialist.
She will be remembered as an active supporter of the Republican Party. She loved knitting and gardening in her spare time.
She is survived by a brother, Albert Frost; three married children, Stuart and Pat Field of Queensbury, N.Y., David and Ellen Field of New Gloucester and Michael and Lenora Field of Fairfield, Conn. In addition, there are three grandchildren, Kristen, Elizabeth and Evan; and a nephew, James Frost.
Siblings Reanna and Edmund predeceased her.
The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff of Clover for the loving care they provided Dorothy these past few years.
