PORTLAND (AP) – Four days after an ice storm knocked out power to 220,000 Mainers, the state’s largest city is basking in record-high temperatures.

The mercury hit 56 degrees in Portland on Monday, breaking the previous mark of 53 that was set in 1975.

The warm, moist air isn’t expected to linger.

The National Weather Service says a cold front moving through Canada is pushing into the state Monday night.
