HAVERHILL, Mass. – Funeral and burial services were held for Claudette Aube Bilotta in Norwood, Mass., on Nov. 25. She died unexpectedly in her sleep at her home in Haverhill, Mass.
She was born in Lewiston, on Jan. 23, 1940, the daughter of Albert and Eva (Labrecque) Aube. In 1958, she graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School. This summer, she attended and enjoyed her 50-year high school class reunion.
She was an excellent educator, first as a Dominican nun and later as a lay secondary education teacher in Massachusetts. She retired from Harvard University, where she was employed as an administrative assistant for many years.
In 1983, she married Frank Bilotta of Norwood, Mass., where they resided throughout their married life. Her beloved Frank died in 1994.
She enjoyed reading, expanding her knowledge, knitting, playing cards and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed being around the children. They always brought joyful moments to her life, as they held a special place in her heart.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Maria Bilotta of Norwood, Mass.; her four sisters, Fernande (Fern) Lavallee of Bradford, Mass., Laurette Drouin of Lewiston, Jacqueline (Jackie) and her husband, Michael King, of Greene and Constance (Connie) and her husband, Albert DeBlois, of Lewiston; her three sisters-in-law, Dolores Ernst Aube of Cleveland, Ohio, Cecile Norman Aube of Rochester, N.Y., and Sylvia Mercader Aube of Millbrae, Calif.; her two godsons, Michael DeBlois of Portland and Anthony Aube of California; and many nephews, nieces, their spouses and children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her parents; her four brothers, Lucien Aube of Cleveland, Ohio, Roland Aube of Rochester, N.Y., Bertrand Aube of Dover, N.H., and Robert Aube of Millbrae, Calif.; her two brothers-in-law, Albert Lavallee of Bradford, Mass., and Maurice Drouin of Lewiston; and a sister-in-law, Rita McKenney Aube of Dover, N.H.
