CANTON – Delphia May Eastman, 91, died Monday, Dec. 15, at the Victorian Villa Nursing Home.
She was born on Highland Terrace, Mexico, June 5, 1917, a daughter of Fred F. and Georgia (Farnum) Bartlett Jr. She graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1935, and was a lifelong resident of Mexico.
On June 13, 1936, she married Dana A. Eastman. They enjoyed more than 60 years of marriage before his death in 1996. They were a devoted couple and worked side by side in building their home in Mexico and their camp at Worthley Pond. They also traveled and spent time camping with friends.
She was a very independent lady and loved her home and good times with her family and friends. She had many wonderful neighbors. She was never shy about sharing her opinions. In more recent years, she enjoyed outings and lunches with her “lady friends,” many of them schoolmates from Mexico High.
Survivors include daughters, Susan Buzza of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Rebecca McDonald and friend, Carlton Welch, of Canton; a brother, Fred Bartlett of Auburn; grandchildren, Michael McDonald and companion, Heidi Fowler, of Townsend, Mass., Mark Buzza of Cleveland, Ohio, David Buzza and wife, Leslie, and Bonnie Dye and husband, Tim, of Bucyrus, Ohio; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Dye of Bucyrus, Ohio; numerous much loved nieces and nephews; and her kitty “Shirley.”
She was predeceased by her husband, Dana; sisters, Hazel Nickerson and Edna Brown; special niece, Audrey McKenna; sons-in-law, Richard Buzza and Theodore McDonald; and infant brother and sister twins.
