“Oh my goodness! The gas price right now is amazing. I wish gas would stay at this price,” said Kelly Bourgoin, a senior at Lisbon High School. Another senior, Kala Michaud, commented, “I think gas prices have dropped a lot and I hope they will continue to drop.”

As we all know, gas prices have dropped drastically in the past couple of months and everyone, students and adults, are excited about it; however, some don’t think that it’s going to last long. Gary Boucher, a resident of Lisbon, shared, “I think it’s good right now because you can spend more money on the holidays. But I also think after Christmas it’s going to go back up.” Terry Hilliard, a resident of Maine, commented she thinks “in the spring the gas will go back up.”

The gas prices are not just affecting adults; it is also affecting us as students. Everyone is vulnerable right now because who knows when the prices are going to go back up. Prices could skyrocket without any notice. Today the price is around $1.94 per gallon and tomorrow, or the next day, it could be twice as much. The smart consumer will get it before it’s gone at these lower prices.
