While researching for my article “Cancer” (recently published in the Advocate,) I decided to seek resources, contacting Kerry Irish. Kerry is a part of the Patrick Dempsey Center for Hope and Healing at CMMC. Through e-mail, she gave me some great links. After submitting my article, Kerry informed my GT teacher, Mrs. Duguay, and I about the upcoming health fair that would take place on October 26 in the Lost Valley Lodge in Auburn.

I prepared a three panel display for the fair and prepared to speak to the public. I had a fun time, and I really enjoyed sharing what I had learned with the public; being able to speak about my experience really helped me connect. I even got to meet Tom Allen who was there with his wife and daughter. I recommend visiting the fair next year with your family. They have many things to offer, such as free handouts and plenty of information. I recommend participating in the 5 K race as well, it was a really great family activity to watch.
