AUBURN – Raymond A. Levesque, 69, formerly of 156 Main St., Roak Block, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, after a long illness with cancer with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 7, 1939, the son of the late Antonio P. and Adrienne Robida Levesque. He was educated at Sacred Heart Academy in Jackman and Lewiston public schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1957.

He then attended Divine Word Seminary in New York for a year. Ray served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an electrician by trade with a master’s license from Maine, New Hampshire and Florida.

He spent some 35 years in Daytona Beach, Fla., at his trade. In 2006, he started to return home to Maine for the summers. He enjoyed attending flea markets, reading, walking and had a beautiful singing voice and sang with the Saints Peter and Paul Church choir when he returned to Maine during the summer months.

He is survived by a sister, Carmen T. (Levesque) Guay and her husband, L. Robert Guay, of Lisbon; his nephew, Paul Guay and his wife, Diane, and family of Cape Elizabeth; and a niece, Helen and her husband, Marc Fournier, and family of Biddeford.
