AUBURN – Georgette C. Gagne, 87, of Foch Street, Lewiston, died Friday, Dec. 19, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.
She was born in Lewiston, on Nov. 5, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Robertine (Lacroix) Cloutier. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years in the local shoe industry as a stitcher. She was the wife of Lionel Gagne, who died on Dec. 14, 1997.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross Senior Citizen and Covenant 50. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting and was a talented seamstress; she made blankets for all her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Rejeanne Nadeau and her husband, Donald, of Minot, Doris Bellefleur and her husband, Gilbert of Lewiston and Jacqueline Greenough and her husband, David, of Ashburnham, Mass.; one son, Maurice Gagne and his wife, Marilou, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Brenda Adams; one sister, Simonne Lavoie; and two brothers, Lucien and Robert Cloutier.
