PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A 44-year-old Pawtucket man has been arrested after a hit and run accident that left a man with a broken back after being dragged 50 feet.
Police say Luis Baez was in a white pickup in South Providence on Friday when he hit 55-year-old Bruce Buchanan, who got caught in the undercarriage and was pulled several blocks.
They say Baez got out and checked the front of his truck, then got back in and drove away.
But police said that was enough time for witnesses to give police a good description of Baez and his truck.
Baez was arrested about a half hour later.
Buchanan’s injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.
