I am writing in response to the article about the ranking systems for area nursing homes. (“Site ranks nursing home care,” Dec. 19)

I placed my husband in Victoria Villa in Canton more than three years ago.

I don’t know if they followed all the guidelines that Medicare said they should, but I do know that my husband received the best care that I could ask for. The staff treated him as if he was one of their own.

I visited the home several times a week, sometimes at 6:30 a.m., sometimes at lunch and supper. He was always treated with great respect. They called him “Pops” and kissed him on his bald spot, which he enjoyed very much.

I have told the director this and the many women who worked there. If in the future I need nursing home care, I would have no qualms about being placed at Victorian Villa.
