LEWISTON – Helen E. Severy, 95, of Livermore, died Friday, Dec. 26, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 26, 1913, on Walker Hill in Wilton, the daughter of Arthur and Maude (Rowe) Rowe. She received her education in Wilton schools and was a graduate of Wilton Academy. She married Erlon Severy of Severy Hill, Dixfield.

Cooking and baking were her passions. Known to her faith community as “grandma donut,” she often would invite the young people and women of the Wayside Bible Baptist Church to her home, where she would offer her wisdom with some homemade donuts. She was a short order cook at Bridgton Academy, at schools in northern Maine, and at the former Farmington Diner. She also enjoyed oil and water color painting and reading.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Lincoln Rozelle and his children, Layla and Elijah of Scotland, and Kendrick and Helene Rozelle, both college students in Wisconsin.

She was predeceased by her husband; two daughters, Jane Severy and Lenore Rozelle; two sisters, Harriet Rowe and Ruth Winters; and one brother, Roger Rowe.
