LISBON – Jeannine I. “Jaye” Quinlan, 73, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, at the Lamp Alzheimer’s residential Care Facility.
She was born in Lewiston, July 29, 1935, the daughter of the late Ernest and Corinne (Paradis) Doyon. She was educated in Lewiston schools attending St. Peter’s Grammar School and was a 1953 graduate of St. Dominic High School.
She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, mini-golf, traveling, and day trips to the casino. She was a true fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox watching almost every game. She also enjoyed making spaghetti for her husband and his daughter, Kathy.
She did office work at Knapp Shoe for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She married John Quinlan on Dec. 18, 1965, and he predeceased her on Nov. 30, 1989.
Before her retirement in 1997, Jaye worked as a unit secretary at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was a very loving person and always had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed family gatherings, and was on a bowling league playing single and doubles with her husband, John.
Survivors include one brother, Donald Doyon and wife, Jean, of Lewiston; four sisters, Carmen Cole of Bangor, Muriel Dechene, Doris Theberge and husband, Al, Joan Teixeira and husband, Andy, all of Lewiston; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Girouard and husband, Roland, and Anita Doyon.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Roger and Raymond Doyon; nieces, Carol Theberge and Denise Bonk; a brother-in-law, Alex Dechene; and a special stepdaughter, Kathy Quinlan.
Jaye’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at The Lamp for excellent care and compassion they gave to her, and they also would like to thank Steve and Trudy of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
