LEWISTON – Cecile Ouellette, 82, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, at D’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Amesbury, Mass., on June 26, 1926, the daughter of Alphonse and Alice (Roy) Ouellet.

She attended local schools in the Lewiston and Auburn area. She worked in the local shoe factories for many years and was an active participant at the Social Learning Center.

Cecile was an avid guitar player, enjoyed fishing, listening and playing music. She also enjoyed the activities at D’Youville Pavilion where she resided for the past 22 years.

She is survived by her stepsisters, Jeanine Arey and her husband Curt, Rita Hellstrom and her husband Benjamin; a very good friend and guardian, Donna Gillespie; nieces, Irene Couillard, Diane Reynolds, Terry Smith, Ingrid Hellstrom and Sondra Hellstrom; nephews, Normand Ouellette, Marc Levesque and Andy Levesque.

She was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Eva Ouellet; two brothers, Gerard and Fern Ouellette.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at St. Marguerite D’Youville Pavilion for the loving care shown to Cecile.
