LEWISTON – Joan E. Blossom, 80, of Bates Street, Lewiston, died Monday, Dec. 29, peacefully in her sleep at her residence.

She was born in Bangor, on May 24, 1928, the daughter of William and Lucille (Hawkes) Blossom.

She was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1945. She then graduated from the former Auburn School of Commerce. Prior to her retirement in 1993, she worked in the office at W.D. Matthews Machinery Co.

She enjoyed knitting, bird watching, gardening and puzzles.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Blossom of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Robert Blossom in 1961.
