LEWISTON – “Exploring Financial Resources to Manage Medical Care Costs” will be the topic of a Monday, Jan. 12, presentation being sponsored by the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center.
Margaret Ross will discuss such issues as eligibility requirements for programs like Maine Care, Medicare Part B and D premiums, insurance supplements and prescription discounts.
Ross is former director of the Division of Surveillance and Utilization Review for the Bureau of Medical Services, a part of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. She is also a former director of nursing at CMMC.
She is a trustee and secretary of the Central Maine Medical Center College of Nursing and Health Professions board of trustees, secretary of the Woman’s Hospital Association board of trustees, secretary of the Maine Association of Retirees and a member of the SeniorsPlus board of directors.
The session will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Conference Room I on the lower level of the12 High Street Medical Office Building.
There is no fee and preregistration is required to attend. Sessions are open to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.
