WALES – Ryan J. Guay, a 2002 graduate of Oak Hill High School, was attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Fla., when he was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in January of 2006. Each year, his family puts on a memorial performance and scholarship fundraiser benefiting a Maine high-school graduate pursuing Ryan’s dream of a career in mechanics.

Performing Wednesday, Jan. 7, will be classical guitarist Gregory Guay of Sabattus. Also taking the stage will be soprano Katherine Jillson, giving a senior project performance.

Guay is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in music, with a concentration in classical guitar, at the College of Charleston. A faculty member of Charleston Academy of Music, he has Suzuki guitar teacher training and teaches classical guitar to children and adults.

The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Oak Hill High School, 56 School Road.

Admission is free, with donations greatly appreciated.
