LEWISTON – Hazel J. Mitchell, 84, formerly of Mechanic Falls, passed away Dec. 30, 2008, after a long illness with her son at her side.

She was one of 15 children born to Grace and Edward King. She was married to George Mitchell, a world traveling, Merchant Marine. They had two children, Rebecca and Mark. She had four grandchildren, Jon and Annie Mitchell of Gorham and Josh and Mike Carmichael of Falmouth.

She worked at Owen Moore in Lewiston for many years. She was always very close to her large family of relatives and friends, most notably, her pal, Joyce DeBiase.

She was predeceased by her daughter “Becky”; and her husband, “Mitch.”
