AUBURN – Herbert H. Foss Sr., 65, of 2 Plank Road in Byron, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at the Hospice House with his loving family and friends at his side.

He was born in Raymond, on Jan. 21, 1943, a son of Herbert and Ruby E. (Delan) Foss.

Herb married Natalie Barton on Sept. 28, 1979, in Westbrook. Together they have celebrated 30 years of marriage.

He enjoyed panning for gold, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as the “mayor of the mountain.”

Surviving are his wife, Natalie of Raymond; two sons, James M. Foss and Christopher J. Nassa and wife, Shannon, all of Raymond; grandchildren, Bailey, Dalton, Caitlyn and Dakota; and many close friends.
