LEWISTON – Fannie C. DeFilipp, 91, of Goff Avenue in Lewiston, and formerly of Harlow Hill Road, Mexico, passed away peacefully Friday Jan. 2, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Rumford, on Oct. 12, 1917, a daughter of Joseph and Carmella (Ciamacco) Giambattista.

She married Dominick DeFilipp on Jan. 7, 1946, in Rumford, and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage; he passed away on Sept. 20, 2000.

She was employed as a cafeteria worker with the Mexico School Department for 18 years.

She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Mexico and was a member of the Sons of Italy.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards and watching sports, but most of all spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Faucher and husband, Rosario, of Lewiston; two sons, Joseph S. DeFilipp and wife, Terri, of Auburn and Barry W. DeFilipp and wife, Michelle, of Brewer; four sisters, Amelia Richard of Rumford, Stella Glazier of Rumford, Mary Mariconda of New Jersey, and Nancy DeGise of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, Andrew and Stephanie DeFilipp, Amy Brents, Nathan Faucher, Carla and Jodie Faucher, and Sandra, Sarah, Dominique and Allison DeFilipp; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Joseph Brents.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Antonio, Kitan and Crescenzo Giambattista; and a sister, Laura Giambattista.

The family would like to thank d’Youville Pavilion, 4 West, for the special care she received while a resident there.
