WINDSOR – Lynda Dayle Smith died peacefully at home in the loving arms of her daughters and grandson, on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008.

She was born July 24, 1947, to Roberta (Swett) Thurston and the late Ashley Thurston.

She called many towns in Maine home during her lifetime, including Wilton, Jay, Pleasant Ridge Plantation, Stratton and most recently, Windsor. She made many friends and welcomed all with a hug and a smile.

She was diagnosed with lung cancer in June 2008, and faced this struggle with a brave heart. The last months of her life were full of fond reminiscence and a time of reconnection with family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her four daughters, Cindy Andrews and her husband, Jamie, of Sidney, Jennie Lavallee and her husband, Carroll, of Bingham, Lisa White and her husband, Andy, of Windsor and Melanie Miller and David, of Somerville; her nine grandchildren, DJ Bates, Cory Andrews, Amber White, Allysia Miller, Ashley Andrews, Noah Miller, Emma White, Morgan Miller and Abigail Miller; her mother, Roberta Thurston of Farmington; her ex-husband, Brian Smith; and many extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Ashley Thurston; her first husband, Norman Elba Fish; and her grandmother, Mildred (Riggs) Swett.

The family wishes to thank everyone who helped care for Lynda (Mumzy), with special thanks to Cathi, Lisa, Sue and Dr. Keating at Healthreach Hospice; the gentlemen at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home and Eric at UNE for their dedication and caring support.
