AUBURN – Bradford P. Stevens, 88, of 69 Huard Ave. in Auburn, passed away at home on Jan. 2, due to complications of lung cancer. He never lost his sense of humor throughout the whole ordeal. He was a very caring person.
He was born in Bath, on June 6, 1920, the son of Roy and Florence (Burn) Stevens. He married the love of his life and soul mate, the former Margaret Keough on June 11, 1949 in Auburn. He was educated in Auburn schools and worked in local shoe shops and was a carpenter by trade, building the house that he and Margie raised their three children in.
He served his country from 1942 to 1945 in the Army serving in many parts of the country as a World War II veteran.
He was a member of the Amvets Post 6 in New Gloucester and the VFW on Minot Avenue in Auburn.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, James Stevens and wife, Peggy, and John Stevens; a daughter, Jeanne-Lyn Stevens MacDonald; five grandchildren, Michael and wife, Angel Markey, Joe and wife, Amanda, Donald and wife, Erin Stevens, Robert Berry II and Joni George; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Courtney, April and Ashton Stevens; three brothers, Roy, Eugene and George Stevens; and one sister, Rose Coffin.
He was predeceased by four sisters, Kathrine Stevens (Sister Mary Frances), Libby Sylvester, Ada Jorden and Eleanor Russell; and one brother, Calvert Stevens.
