AUBURN – A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring the Life of Louis J. Fournier was celebrated by the Rev, Frank Murray on Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Church, following prayers from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son.

During Mass, Louis’s son, Philip, carried his father’s urn to the altar. Readings of the Old and New Testament were read by Louis’s grandsons, Patrick Kelley and William Milasauskis. “The Prayer of the Faithful” was read by Louis’ daughter, Joline Kelley.

The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Louis’ daughter, Celeste Butler, and her children, Nicole and Danielle Butler. Words of remembrance were shared at the conclusion of the service by Louis’s daughter, Louise Milasauskis.

Musical selections “Amazing Grace,” “Be Still My Soul” and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” were sung and performed by Louis’ grandson-in-law, Joshua Littlefield.

Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Rev. Murray recited committal prayers for both Louis and his wife, Odette, who passed away Thanksgiving day.

It was Louis’s wish his wife of 61 years be buried with committal prayers with him upon his passing.

The U.S. Army Honor Detail then played “Taps,” and presented our country’s flag to Louis’s son, Philip, for services rendered by his father, Louis, to his country during World War II who had also been a recipient of the Purple Heart with Oak Clusters.

At the conclusion of services all in attendance were then invited to a reception of fellowship at DaVinci’s Restaurant in Lewiston.
