South Paris – Richard V. Berry, 64, of South Paris, passed away at his home early Saturday morning with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Rumford, Aug. 15, 1943, the son of George Berry and Jacqueline Arsenault Berry Spencer. He finished school and started working at a very young age, he worked at Cornwalls for many years, also at Norway Shoe Shop and briefly at a lumberyard in Land O’Lakes, Fla.
He loved his dog Peppy, and enjoyed snowmobiling and ATVs in his younger years. He loved to play horseshoes and lawn darts and spend time with his family and friends. He loved animals and was always bringing home a stray dog or cat.
He is survived by a son, Richard B. Berry; two sisters, Irene Perry and her husband, Jerome, and Carol Dean; a brother, Garry Spencer and his wife, Betty; nieces and nephews Corrine and Mike Healy, April and Larry Mitchell, Michael Ferris, Linda Jenkins, Garry Spencer, Tanya Spencer, Peter Harrington, Vicky Beckwith, Tod, Linny and Ward Perry; and 13 great-nieces and nephews; and his dog Peppy.
Richard was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Edmund Spencer; a brother-in-law, Gordon Dean; nephew-in-law, Alec Beckwith; and two nieces, Patty Paine and Doreen Perry.
