SOUTH PARIS – Dorothy T. Bower, 93, better known to friends and family as Dottie B. of South Paris, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Market Square Health Care Center.
She was born in Phillips, on Nov. 7, 1915, the daughter of Mildred Toothaker and Ortho Ross. After graduating from Phillips High School, she moved to Connecticut, where she met and married Robert Bower. While there she was employed by Pratt & Whitney, later as a hospital secretary, and then a veterinary assistant.
She enjoyed returning to Phillips to hunt, and walk the woods with her friends, but her greatest passion was fishing.
Surviving are cousins, Helen Hawkes, Malcolm “Macky” Toothaker and Leanne McKinney; and extended family and many close friends, including Wanie Grant.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob; stepson, Marshall Webster; and cousins, Monty and Maurice Toothaker.
The family wishes to thank Diane for her special friendship and care of Dottie during her illness.
