I am an employee at a local hospital. I would like to publicly recognize and express my deepest appreciation to two employees at a local taxi company for their help on Christmas Day.
I called the taxi service during the afternoon of Christmas Eve with an unreasonable request. A family living outside of Damariscotta wanted to see their father, a patient at the hospital, on Christmas Day. The young children didn’t even want presents – they just wanted to see their dad. Could the taxi company help?
On Christmas, at 6 o’clock in the morning, a driver from the taxi company picked up one excited father and dropped him off 1.5 hours away. The father was able to surprise his children as they came down the stairs on Christmas morning.
What the dispatcher and driver did that morning for the father and his family was life-changing.
If I may say to those two gentlemen … whatever else happens in your lives, please know that you have made a profound difference in the life of one very appreciative and happy family.
