NEW VINEYARD – A random search and testing led to the arrest of a New Vineyard man Friday on a charge of aggravated trafficking in marijuana, said Gerry Baril of Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Kenneth Greg Shaw, 46, of New Vineyard was arrested after MDEA agents followed up on his probation conditions for random search and testing, Baril said. Shaw was on probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of aggravated furnishing of marijuana in March 2005 in Franklin County Superior Court.
Police found a couple of ounces of prepackaged marijuana, digital scales and suspected drug proceeds of $1,000 cash at the home Friday, Baril said.
Shaw’s charge of aggravated trafficking in marijuana became a felony charge because of the previous charge and probation, he said.
As of Monday, Shaw was still being held at the Franklin County Detention Center.
