ANSON – Mary P. Brown, 92, of Anson, died on Jan. 8, at the home of her daughter, after a long illness.
She was born on June 17, 1916, in Hartland, the daughter of Oliver and Ellen Butler Brown. She was educated in the schools of Hartland, graduating in the class of 1934.
She was employed as a cook in sporting camps in Seboeis, the University of New Hampshire and Hastings Lyman Hotel in York Beach. In 1959, she was employed at Forster Manufacturing Co. in Strong until 1977, when she retired.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Strong United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Weese of Anson; a brother, Howard Brown of Swanton, Vt.; a sister, Juanita Bickford of Connecticut; four grandchildren, John Pillsbury of Phillips, Jennifer Rundlett of Phillips, Mary Reed of Strong and Marella Gilmore of Farmington; nine great-grandchildren, Jonathan Pillsbury of Phillips, Kalena Pillsbury of Phillips, Elizabeth Eaton of Nantucket, Mass., Leanna Eaton of Avon, David Eaton of Phillips, Jessica Rundlett of Phillips, Rebecca Reed of Strong, Jenna Gilmore of Strong and Caleb Gilmore of Strong; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Stuart of Chesterville and Aleksis Pillsbury of Phillips.
The family was very thankful for the services of Healthreach and Hospice for the care they provided in their time of need.
