Winter is here! For the next four to five months you will most likely be waking up to frosty windows, white covered cars and fast falling snow. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Now, if you’re like me, your answer would be a yes, but that isn’t everyone. I know plenty of people who say, ” I hate winter. It’s too cold and there’s nothing to do.”
Well, I’m here to tell those who don’t like winter that there are many activities they could get involved in during this long season. Maybe you’re the outdoor type who would enjoy snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, ice-fishing, and snowmobiling. Not only are these fun things to do, but they are also healthy.
Don’t make this bigger than it is though, for you could do something very simple such as inviting your friends over to go sledding, build a fort, or best yet, have a snowball fight. Now, I haven’t forgotten about all those people who don’t like the cold. You could curl up and watch a good movie or even read a book. Winter is also a good time to volunteer at places such as the animal shelter or hospital. Do something creative like make a puzzle or start a scrapbook. If you don’t mind a little bit of snow, you could visit a lighthouse that is all lit up or go shopping at snow covered villages.
This winter do something different, try something new. Whatever you do though, don’t sit around being all bored because winter is way too long of a season to just be doing nothing. So, get out there and explore the wonders of winter. Who knows, maybe winter will one day be your thing.
