This soccer season the Tripp Tigers did not do well at all with a record of 3 – 17. This was a sad year. With a shortage of players for the season, Tripp did not have an A and a B team, just one. Coach Zach had made up an A line, with mostly eighth graders, and a B line, with mostly seventh graders. Because Tripp only had one team, there have been four days when the team had to play (back -to – back) an A game followed by a B game. Since Tripp is in Class A soccer, they have been going up against schools like Lewiston, Bath, Brunswick, Mt. Ararat, Oxford Hills and Auburn all season.
About 10 Tripp games have ended with a final score of 1 – 4. The player with the most goals in the A games is Nick Allen. The player with the most goals in the B games is Conner Violette.
Tripp has lost some players throughout the season, due to ineligibility. The team has lost three players from bad grades, and had almost lost two more.
Tripp and Leavitt hope to switch the school’s soccer class from Class A to Class B. That will hopefully allow us to play more evenly.
