NORWAY – Woodman’s Sporting Goods store owner Paul Brook said Tuesday night that he notified landlord Barry Mazzaglia earlier in the day that he would be vacating the building this spring.

The distinctive log cabin-style building at 417 Main St. was constructed in the late 1800s or early 1900s as part of the Opera House block. The business opened in the 1930s, he said, adding he has owned it nearly 16 years.

This week, Ed Snook of Sun Media, confirmed that Woodman’s will take over the former Sun Journal bureau building at 429 Main St.

Brook, of Norway, said Tuesday night that his wife, Elizabeth, bought the 1-story building, which he will rent.

“This opportunity arose so my wife and I decided it made sense,” Brook said.

He said he expects the move will be complete by late March or early April.
