BUCKFIELD – Bryan Litchfield led a trio of players in double figures as Buckfield raced to a 54-43 victory over Gould in a boys’ basketball tilt.
Litchfield finished with 16 points for the Bucks (5-6), while Kyle Rines tallied 15 and Tyler Weymouth added 13. Buckfield took a slim four-point lead into halftime before a 19-15 run in the third quarter provided a little breathing room.
Gould (4-3) was paced by Scott Baribeau with a game-high 17 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Boothbay 62, Jay 43
BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Junior forward Alex Gorey tossed an impressive 21 points to lead Boothbay to a 62-43 victory over Jay.
The Seahawks (9-3) grabbed a 29-19 halftime lead and improved to a 17-point margin in the third quarter. Zak Vanderlaan chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds for Boothbay.
Junior forward Kyle DeMillo paced the Tigers (5-7) with 12 points, matching the most points his teammates were able to string together in a single quarter.
Liv. Falls 65, Carrabec 48
LIVERMORE FALLS – Junior guard Khyle Whittemore recorded 16 points as Livermore Falls climbed to a 65-48 victory over Carrabec in MVC boys’ basketball action.
The Andies (6-6) pounded out a 15-3 run in the second quarter for a 27-13 halftime lead. Derek Castonguay notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for Livermore Falls.
The Cobras (3-8) kept pace in the second half, only falling back three points in the stanza. Senior guard Nate Manzer scored 14 points and R.J. Pinkham another 13.
