LISBON – Police found physical evidence of the manufacture and use of crack cocaine in the mobile home at 35 Town and Country Drive where a Lisbon woman said she was held hostage for two and a half days.
“A number of items were picked up,” police Chief David Brooks said Thursday. “We will be meeting with the district attorney on Friday to review the case.”
Police conducted interviews with the alleged victim and others believed to have been staying inside the trailer.
So far, only one person has been arrested, Shameek Garcia, 31, of Lewiston, a convicted felon. Garcia was charged with violating conditions of release. He remained at the Androscoggin County Jail on Thursday.
The occupant of the mobile home, whose name is not being released, called police from a neighbor’s home shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday saying she had been held hostage in her home since Sunday by a group of people.
She said the group was using drugs and that she was forced to perform sex acts on one of the men during that time. Police are continuing to investigate those claims.
Several people who live near the trailer said they were surprised to hear about the incident. Some said they had seen the woman coming and going by herself over the course of the week. They said there had been no indications of distress or trouble at the trailer.
