Library offers playtime

NORWAY – Norway Memorial Library will offer a Family Playtime this winter for parents or caregivers and children ages 1 to 4 as part of its Family Place Libraries program.

The playtime will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays for seven weeks – on Jan. 27, Feb. 3, 10 and 24, and March 3, 10 and 17. Families will be able to meet each other, play together with a wide variety of educational toys and books and browse the library’s collection of parenting materials.

It is a drop-in program. If school is canceled in SAD 17 due to inclement weather, playtime will be canceled. For more information, call the library Children’s Room at 743-5308.

Norway is one of seven Family Place Libraries in Maine. A Family Place Library is a center for early childhood information, parent education, socialization and family support.

Each library places an emphasis on programs and services that help in developing early literacy skills in children under the age of 5.
