PORTLAND – The Maine Real Estate and Development Association will hold its 2009 annual Real Estate Forecast Conference and fifth annual Member Showcase Jan. 29, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn By the Bay, 88 Spring St.

The event offers a forum specifically geared toward developers, brokers, architects, bankers, attorneys, accountants and other professionals who are part of Maine’s real estate industry. Attendees will gain insights on the state of the economy and what lies ahead for the real estate industry.

Maine Gov. John Baldacci will offer the welcoming address. Other speakers include Laurie Lachance, former state economist and president of the Maine Development Foundation, and a capital markets overview by Larry Wold, president of TD Banknorth in Maine.

Supplementing the conference will be MEREDA’s Member Showcase with exhibits of products and services.
