On Friday, Jan. 30, The Swampdonkeys will once again bring its rich texture of instruments, three-part harmonies and plucky, playful songwriting to the Lodge at Black Mountain. Hailing from western Maine, The Swampdonkeys incorporates styles of old time, bluegrass, Canadian Maritime, Irish and modern rock. Making up this pub band are Ted Tibbitts, Michael Hayashida and John Gunn, who play an array of instruments including the mandolin, guitar, fiddle, ukulele and bodhran. Happy hour starts at 5 p.m., with music beginning at 7. The café will be open. Tickets, $8 per person, are available at the mountain. This event is for people 21 and older. For more information, call 364-8977 or log on to www.skiblackmountain.org.
