RUMFORD – Beatrice E. Welding, 95, of Congress Street, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Rumford Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Rumford, Nov. 24, 1913, a daughter of Rosaire and Emerentienne (Tremblay) Nadeau.

She was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1931. She was employed for 25 years with Shore Country Day School in Beverly, Mass.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church and was a member of the St. John’s Guild.

Surviving are her very handsome son, Francis “Mike” Welding of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Nadeau and Yvonne Nadeau, both of Rumford; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, John Welding; a daughter, Jackie Kelly; sons, Richard and John Jr.; brothers, Rosaire, Francis, Raymond and Robert Nadeau; and two sisters, Eleanor Newman and Gertrude Hargis.
