AUBURN – A Celebration of Life service honoring the life of Andrew Dana Campbell was held Saturday at the First Universalist Church, with Chaplain Kitsie Claxton presiding.

During the service, Andrew’s uncle, Bruce Campbell, spoke on behalf of the Campbell family, and urged those in attendance to do something positive in their lives in honor of Andrew and to share that pledge in tribute with Tammy, Jeff and Shawn.

Former classmate, close friend and pen pal of Andrew, Molly Platz, shared a recent letter Andrew wrote to her from college that showed Andrew’s sense of humor and friendship that she generously shared with all. Close friend, Michael Tardif, shared childhood memories as well as his experience growing up with his best friend, Andrew, and how he was inspired by him. Paula Marcus Platz shared a parent’s perspective and impression of how her daughter, Molly, found Andrew to be witty, easy to be with, and a true friend which she will always treasure. Wendy Tardif, another parent and close family friend of the Campbell family, shared her memories of Andrew being a tremendous athlete from coaching him soccer as a young boy to witnessing Andrew skiing Sugarloaf for the first time from top to bottom without falling. Jen Lever read memories written by classmate and close friend of Andrew’s, Greg Barlon.

Auburn Middle School classmate, Craig Michaud, also shared with everyone his recent visit during school break with Andrew and that he will always be grateful he had a chance to “hang out” with him. Edward Little High School Varsity Soccer coach, David Morin, remembered Andrew as a gifted athlete who showed his teammates that if you choose not to listen to the coach you better score a goal. To conclude services, pianist and singer Bree Levesque performed the song, “Shadow of the Day” in honor of Andrew

All in attendance were then invited to join the Campbell family in the church hall for a reception of fellowship.

Pallbearers were Michael Tardif, Marc St. Hilaire, Jon Demers, Kevin Smith, Ben Cleveland, Colby Malcolm, Jay Sawyer, and Andrew’s brother, Shawn Campbell. Burial will be later in the spring.

Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
