Dear Sun Spots: The Rumford Eagles Club 1248 is holding a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament for the Diabetes Foundation on Jan. 24 with sign-in at 9:30 a.m. and play at 10 a.m. We are looking for 100 people who want to not only have a good time, but have a chance to help the foundation. The cost to enter is $30. If interested, contact Butch Carey at 357-5345 or Jim Rinaldo at 364-2983. If we get 100 people then the final table of nine people will all be in the money. – Jim, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I always read your column and am amazed at how many people you help out with such a variety of requests. Well, here is another. I have some tole painting patterns and supplies that I would like to give to someone who is interested in them. I have stenciling patterns and two cutting boards and two small trays. I hate to throw them away, but am not using them anymore. Please give me a call if you are interested. Frances C. Miller 784-0040. Thanks. – Frances, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Now that the voting for legislators is over, I have a question. Is there a publication that tells us how our respective legislators are representing us? Sincere thanks. – No Name, Lewiston.

Answer:
Sun Spots is not aware of a publication that reports on legislative issues at the state level. Keep in mind, you are able to contact your legislator for answers to any questions you may have. To find out how specific legislators voted, visit http://mainevotes.org/ and you can search by bill or legislator.

Dear Sun Spots: Support your local snowboarding team by skiing or riding yourself! Help some amazing local kids compete in national snowboarding events (and get a tax write-off, too) while you enjoy the snow on two great Maine mountains. The first individual (or business) to donate at least $800 (the passes are worth more than that) to our team projects gets the 5 unresricted day passes to Sunday River and one unrestricted adult season pass to Lost Valley for this season.

Please – help out some terrific kids, and enjoy the winter! Contact Liz, 653-5325. Liz, Snomad Freestyle Team, Auburn.
