Dot was born in Brunswick, on Nov. 22, 1918, and grew up in Durham. She graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn at the age of 16. Upon graduation, she did office work for more than 30 years with Freeport Shoe and was later employed by L.L. Bean in the accounting department until her retirement in 1984.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth H. Brown of Freeport; her daughter Adena Stewart of Greenville; her sons, Frederick “Bruce” Brown and Richard “Dick” Brown, both of Freeport; her granddaughters, Nadine Grosso and her husband, Vincent, of Gray and Danielle O’Connell and her husband, Andy, of Raymond; her grandson, Dakota Brown of Bowdoin; her great-granddaughters, Jenny and Ava; and her great-grandson, Ryan.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Reginald.
