GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) – Two men were rescued by fishermen off Gloucester after their work boat capsized.

The Coast Guard said the 45-foot boat Providenza overturned at about 9:45 a.m. on Monday just outside Gloucester Harbor. It says the fishing vessel Blue Dagger was nearby, and plucked both men from the water.

Marty Rome, a spokesman for Intershell International Corporation, which contracted the Providenza, told the Gloucester Daily Times the men were not seriously hurt. He said one man was treated for hypothermia.

Rome said the boat was headed to sea to dispose of shucked clams when it became unstable and overturned.

The Coast Guard said the accident was under investigation.

The accident comes about two weeks after a Gloucester fishing trawler sank on Jan. 3, killing two.
