FARMINGTON – SAD 9 voters will consider a projected $18.9 million construction project Thursday to build a new W.G. Mallett School in Farmington.
The state will pick up 99.6 percent of the project and the district will be responsible for $75,000, SAD 9 Assistant Superintendent Sue Pratt previously said.
The project calls for a prekindergarten through grade three school to be built behind the existing school on Quebec Street and then for the old school to be removed.
If approved, the project is due to go to bid in December 2009, construction would begin in early spring 2010, and the school would open in September 2011, she said.
Referendum voting times Thursday, Jan. 22, are:
• Chesterville: 1 to 5 p.m., town office
• Farmington: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., community center
• Industry: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., town hall
• New Vineyard: 1 to 6 p.m., Smith Hall
• New Sharon: Noon to 6 p.m., town office
• Temple: 8 a.m. to noon, town hall
• Vienna: 4 to 8 p.m., fire station
• Weld: 4 to 8 p.m., town office
• Wilton: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., town office
