AUBURN – Abdisalan Mohamed of Lewiston, an accounting major at Central Maine Community College, left recently for Orlando, Fla., where he will be participating in the Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program.
The program combines a paid internship experience with coursework that allows the participants to earn college credit. Some of the courses focus on marketing, communications, hospitality management and learning in a corporate environment.
Mohamed hopes to complete four courses during his stint at Disney World.
Mohamed, who has never been to Florida, will be living in housing provided by Disney while he takes classes and works in the bell services division.
He will be there until August, at which time he plans to return to Maine and resume his studies at CMCC.
