SCARBOROUGH – Margaret Alice Shehan, 92, of Portland died on Jan. 21, at the Gosnell Hospice House.

She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 9, 1916, and was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn, where she lived for many years before moving to Portland.

While in Auburn, she was active in the community and was the co-host of a live puppet show for children on Channel 8.

In the Portland area, she was employed as a banquet manager at various establishments, including Scarborough Downs, where she met her second husband, Tom Shehan.

A longtime fan of harness racing at Scarborough Downs, she could often be seen at the races there, including this past summer and fall.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Marston and husband, Dick, of Auburn; daughter, Judy and husband, Norm, of Yarmouth; four grandchildren, Frederick Liberty of Bozeman, Mont., Lisa Becker and husband, Rob, of Concord, Mass., Dan Marston of Old Orchard Beach and Matt Marston of Somerville, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, True Liberty Becker and Tate Liberty Becker, of Concord, Mass.; and a special friend, Donna Bryant of Portland.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tom Shehan; her first husband, Clarence Cronk; brother, Ralph Sacre; nephew, Victor Sacre; and her parents, Hattie and Victor Sacre.
